How to Spot Slow Moving Stock Early

Look at product age and sales pace together before a shelf becomes a storage problem.

By ElectroX Team

Slow stock ties up money and space, but a product is not slow simply because it did not sell last week. Seasonal items and expensive devices need a different expectation from cables and everyday accessories.

Define a useful window

Choose a period that fits the product category. Compare units on hand with recent units sold, and note when the last sale happened. An item with ten on hand and one sale a month needs a different purchasing plan from one selling ten a week.

Find the cause before discounting

Check whether the product is visible, correctly named, priced sensibly, and compatible with current demand. Sometimes a catalog error hides sales under another SKU. Sometimes the right response is to stop reordering rather than cut price immediately.

Make a small plan

Decide whether to relocate, bundle, return to a supplier, or mark down the item under your policy. ElectroX product, stock, and sales data can support that decision. Review the result after a few weeks so the plan does not become another forgotten report.
