Refund, Exchange, or Store Credit: Record the Difference

Choose the correct return outcome so stock and money tell the same story.

A customer leaving with a different item is not the same as a cash refund. Mixing outcomes makes the daily close and later customer history difficult to understand.

## Check the original sale

Confirm item, payment method, date, condition, and policy. For serialized devices, compare the physical IMEI before deciding whether it can be resold.

## Record both sides

For an exchange, record the returned item and the replacement, plus any price difference. For credit, state the amount, expiry policy, and how it can be redeemed.

## Reconcile payments

Refund through the appropriate method and verify the provider or drawer record. Review returned stock status at day close.

ElectroX sales, payment, and product records help preserve the complete transaction trail rather than a single adjustment amount.
