Writing Store Policies Customers Actually Understand

Clear policies on returns, warranty, and repairs prevent disputes. Write them in plain language and display them.

By ElectroX Team

Most customer disputes come from expectations that were never set. A clear policy, shown before the sale, gives staff something to point to and customers something to rely on.

Cover the common questions

Write short policies for returns, exchanges, warranty, repair collection, and credit. Answer the questions customers actually ask, such as how many days they have to return an item.

Use plain language

Avoid legal phrasing and long paragraphs. A customer should understand the rule in a few seconds. Translate it into the languages your customers use.

Display and apply consistently

Put policies near the counter and on receipts where possible. Apply them the same way for every customer. ElectroX receipts and records help staff show exactly when an item was bought.
