Plan for an Internet or Power Outage at the Store

A web based system depends on power and internet access. When either fails, a store without a plan either turns customers away or makes sales that are never recorded.
Prepare backups
Keep a charged power backup for the counter device and router, and a mobile hotspot as a second connection. Test them occasionally so they work when needed.
Keep a manual fallback
Have a simple paper sale form ready with the date, items, quantity, price, payment method, and customer details. Number the forms so none go missing.
Enter everything afterward
Once the connection returns, enter every manual sale before the day close and mark the forms as entered. ElectroX day close then reflects the full day, including sales made during the outage.
