Diagnose Before You Quote: A Fair Repair Estimate Process

A quote given before inspection often changes later. A short diagnosis step leads to fairer prices and fewer disputes.

By ElectroX Team

Customers want a price immediately, but the visible fault is not always the real one. A cracked screen can hide a damaged display connector; a charging problem might be a cable or the board.

Give a range, then confirm

At intake, give a price range for the likely repair and explain what could change it. Confirm the final price after inspection and get the customer's approval before starting work.

Record what you found

Note the diagnosis on the job, including tests performed and any additional faults. This protects the store if the customer later asks why the price changed.

Be clear about diagnosis fees

If you charge for inspection when the customer declines the repair, say so before taking the device. ElectroX services can carry a base price along with minimum and maximum prices, which helps staff quote a consistent range.
