Protecting Customer Data During Device Repairs
A phone holds a customer's private life. Simple handling rules show respect for their data and protect the store.
By ElectroX Team
Customers hand over devices full of photos, messages, and accounts. How your team treats that data affects your reputation as much as the quality of the repair.
Ask only for what you need
Request a passcode only when the repair requires testing inside the device, and explain why. Where possible, ask the customer to remove accounts or enable a repair mode before handing it over. Never write passcodes where other customers can see them.
Limit access on the bench
Only the technician working on the device should handle it. Do not browse content, and do not connect devices to shared computers unless the repair requires it.
Recommend a backup
Suggest that customers back up their data before any repair that could reset the device. Note on the job record that the advice was given. ElectroX stores the customer and job details, so sensitive information like passcodes does not need to be written on paper slips.
