A Repair Intake Checklist That Prevents Confusion
Good repair work begins with a written record of the device, the problem, and the next promised update.
By ElectroX Team
Many repair disputes start before a technician opens the device. The customer remembers one symptom, the desk writes another, and nobody records the condition at handoff. A consistent intake makes the work easier to explain later.
Capture the device and concern
Record the model, serial or IMEI where relevant, accessories received, visible damage, and the customer's description in their own words. Ask when the problem began and whether it happens every time. Never replace the customer's report with an assumed diagnosis.
Agree on the boundaries
Explain any inspection fee, estimate process, expected update time, and approval needed before extra work. Give the customer a reference they can use when contacting the desk. Note how you will reach them and any access or privacy instructions.
Hand off a complete record
The technician should see the same intake details the customer agreed to. ElectroX supports service items and customer records alongside the retail workflow. Use a shared record so a shift change does not erase important context.
