## Choose a count window
Work one cabinet at a time and record each physical IMEI or serial before viewing the expected list. Keep sold, returned, and service hold devices in separate trays.
## Compare identities
Match the physical identifiers with available device records. Investigate a mismatch against the receiving entry, sale, and any transfer before editing availability.
## Record the cause
Write down whether the issue came from a typo, wrong unit at checkout, or an unrecorded movement. Repeat the count after the correction.
