Stock Adjustment Reason Codes That Reveal Patterns

Record why a quantity changes so repeated mistakes can be fixed instead of hidden.

A stock adjustment makes a number match the shelf, but the reason matters more for prevention. Without it, the same error is likely to reappear next month.

## Use a small vocabulary

Choose reasons such as damaged, receiving error, return error, theft suspected, or count correction. Require a short note and reference for high value devices.

## Review related activity

Before adjusting, look at recent purchases, sales, returns, and service use. Correct the original transaction if that is the true source of the difference.

## Watch repeat causes

Summarize adjustments by reason each month and assign one process change to the largest avoidable category.

ElectroX stock and transaction records give managers evidence to investigate a mismatch before deciding on a correction.
