Inventory Valuation When Supplier Costs Change

Check how a new purchase price affects pricing without rewriting the history of older stock.

A higher supplier cost can turn a familiar selling price into a weak margin. The shelf price decision should be based on the next unit you will buy as well as the units already held.

## Separate old and new costs

Keep each purchase entry and its actual cost. Do not overwrite a past invoice merely to make today's catalog price look current.

## Recheck selling price

Calculate margin after tax, discount, and expected payment costs. Flag products that need a price decision before the next sale.

## Explain the change

Keep a short note on when the new cost started and which items were affected. This helps a manager answer why two purchases had different margins.

ElectroX purchase, product, and sales records make it easier to compare cost changes with the revenue those items produce.
