Setting Realistic Repair Turnaround Times
Customers forgive a longer wait more easily than a broken promise. Base repair timelines on real data and update them honestly.
By ElectroX Team
A repair promised for tomorrow that takes a week damages trust, even when the work is good. Realistic turnaround times come from knowing how long each job type really takes and how busy the bench is.
Know your typical duration
Record how long common repairs take from intake to completion, including waiting for parts. Use these real numbers rather than the best case. Screen replacements and battery swaps are usually predictable; water damage rarely is.
Factor in the queue
The same repair takes longer when five jobs are ahead of it. Check the open job list before quoting a time. If a part must be ordered, give the customer a date that includes delivery.
Update the customer early
If a job will be late, tell the customer before the promised time, not after. ElectroX lets you set an expected duration on each service, giving the front desk a consistent starting point for quotes.
