What to Do When a Supplier Delivery Is Late

Detect delay early, protect customer promises, and record the revised arrival date.

A supplier's missed date affects the shelf and sometimes a repair promise. Silence until the customer asks is usually the costliest response.

## Check the commitment

Find the order reference, promised date, and items affected. Ask the supplier for a specific updated date and whether a partial shipment is possible.

## Protect the customer

Identify reserved items or repairs waiting on the stock. Give affected customers a realistic update and an alternative when one exists.

## Score the supplier

Record the actual arrival date and reason for delay. Compare repeat delays when deciding future order quantities and lead times.

ElectroX supplier, purchase, stock, and service records help show where a delayed delivery will be felt first.
